National Oversight Committees
National Oversight Committees (NOCs) have been established in each of TMA’s country of operation to ensure ownership and oversight.
The NOCs are responsible for quarterly oversight and review of TMA programme performance, and for making recommendations to the Board. The committees are composed of partner institutions implementing TMA programmes at a national level, as well as representatives from the private sector, civil society and funding partners.
Regionally, TMA has also established Programme Coordinating Committees (PCC) between itself and Secretariats of Regional Economic Communities (e.g. EAC, AfCFTA, ECOWAS) serving a similar purpose as NOCs. In the case of a PCC, the members are representatives of the institutions and senior staff of the Secretariats. Chairs of the Committees interact with Board members at least twice a year.
East African
National Ministries.
In each of the donor states, the Ministries of East African Cooperation (MEAC) typically coordinate regional integration policy making and implementation. TMA provides technical assistance to EAC Ministries in each member state to improve leadership and coordination of regional integration.
