Country Director, DRC Programme, Goma & Kinshasa, DRC.

The Country Director (CD) leads the country programme with an overall responsibility for delivering results in line with TradeMark Africa (TMA)’s Strategy and Project Cycle Management (PCM) Guidelines. S/he manages and maintains strategic relationships with the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the private sector, civil society, and the donor community. Also, the CD is responsible for managing the country team to ensure good design and delivery of projects, and ensuring best practice is followed with TMA corporate guidelines, procedures, and systems. The CD, DRC will develop and maintain effective projects in line with TMA’s strategic plan, results framework, and its monitoring systems, and ensure delivery of programme activities in infrastructure development, trade facilitation, support to Government institutions and the private sector. The CD has the responsibility of scaling up the programme and identifying opportunities for additional investments through fundraising from donors, development partners and other agencies. As the Portfolio director, the CD has the responsibility of streamlining good ways of working between the country programme’s team and regional & other country teams, as well as external stakeholders. The CD has the overall responsibility of managing programme risks as well as in providing leadership and mentorship to the team.

Director, Inclusive Trade, Any TMA Country of Operations.

A member of TradeMark Africa’s (TMA’s) Business Competitiveness team, the Director of Inclusive Trade leads in the design and implementation of the Inclusive Trade programming and TMA’s Gender and Inclusion strategy in line with TMA’s Strategy 3 priorities. The Gender and Inclusion strategy aligns with TMA’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive trade, as well as with national priorities, the AfCFTA’s continental vision, and global SDG ambitions. It reflects TMA’s dedication to fostering greater inclusion and prosperity for women, youth, and vulnerable groups through trade, aiming for equitable access and benefits by 2030. Under TMA’s Strategy 3 programming, the gender and inclusion work builds on the successes and lessons learned from Strategy 2, incorporating key strategic shifts such as: (i) an emphasis on broader inclusion aspects, including gender, age, disability, business size, and migration status; (ii) an expansion of inclusive programming into new regions, such as the Horn of Africa and West Africa; (iii) a specific focus on youth; and (iv) the design of more integrated and sustainable solutions to enhance the resilience of small and informal businesses. The portfolio cuts across all TMA country of operations (national level) and at regional and continental level driving inclusion of women, youth and other vulnerable groups in trade. The job holder is responsible for programme quality and delivery of both Continental and Country interventions and will ensure that outcomes and associated impacts align with key headline results for both mainstreaming and targeted initiatives. S/he will ensure mainstreaming of inclusion aspects including gender, youth, persons with disability and other marginalised groups in all aspects of TMA’s programmes and operations at both the national and continental levels. The post holder will also continuously build strong links with the inclusive trade programming in all countries where TMA has a footprint to ensure integration of inclusion aspects and create visibility on the impact of our work.

Director Southern Africa with focus on Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique.

TMA has a growing portfolio of country programmes in Southern Africa in Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique with good possibilities of funding for Zimbabwe and South Africa. The regional Director for Sothern Africa will primarily be responsible for Zambia as the largest programme (50-60%) in this portfolio but will also cover the other countries in the portfolio which presently include Malawi (30%) and Mozambique (20%). Other countries in Southern Africa might be added into the portfolio as the programme matures and based on approval by the Board. This person will have the overall responsibility for the scale up, design and implementation of these country portfolios with a focus on delivery of both impactful results and timely expenditure in line with TMA’s Strategy 3 on Building Sustainable Trade and Inclusive Trade, Regional and Country Strategies. In particular, the director will need to ensure effective 1) delivery of these programmes from design to implementation and closure in line with TMA’s Project Cycle Management (PCM) Guidelines, systems, procedures and other donor requirements; 2) fundraising from donors and philanthropic organisations; 3) management of TMA teams and technical assistants who support implementation of the smaller programmes in Mozambique and Zimbabwe; and 4) effective stakeholder management and governance of these programmes through TMA’s National Oversight Committees (NOCs) and maintenance of strategic relationships with Governments, the private sector, civil society, and the donor communities.

Programme Manager, Zambia

The Programme Manager (PM) will be responsible for the effective delivery in terms of expenditure and results of projects in the Zambia Country Programme and as well as in other Southern African countries where there is no TMA presence such as Mozambique. Programme Officer, Zambia (JG7)

The Programme Officer will support the country team with the coordination of project management activities including during project design and formulation, mobilisation, implementation, and closure. S/he will ensure the development and management of appropriate mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation. The Officer will be expected to manage Communications requirements for the country programmes, and support with the management of project-related safeguard requirements. S/he will also be responsible for aligning the programme’s knowledge management goals and practices to TMA’s strategy and ensuring that internal and external knowledge management solutions involve commitment for long-term value to be realised. Membre de l’équipe Compétitivité des entreprises de TradeMark Africa (TMA), le directeur du commerce inclusif dirige la conception et la mise en Å“uvre de la programmation du commerce inclusif et de la stratégie de TMA en matière de genre et d’inclusion, conformément aux priorités de la stratégie 3 de TMA. La stratégie sur le genre et l’inclusion s’aligne sur l’engagement de TMA en faveur d’un commerce durable et inclusif, ainsi que sur les priorités nationales, la vision continentale de la ZLECAf et les ambitions mondiales en matière d’ODD. Elle reflète l’engagement de TMA à favoriser une plus grande inclusion et prospérité pour les femmes, les jeunes et les groupes vulnérables par le biais du commerce, en visant un accès et des avantages équitables d’ici 2030. Dans le cadre de la programmation de la stratégie 3 de TMA, le travail sur le genre et l’inclusion s’appuie sur les succès et les leçons tirées de la stratégie 2, en incorporant des changements stratégiques clés tels que : (i) l’accent mis sur des aspects plus larges de l’inclusion, y compris le sexe, l’âge, le handicap, la taille de l’entreprise et le statut migratoire ; (ii) l’expansion de la programmation inclusive dans de nouvelles régions, telles que la Corne de l’Afrique et l’Afrique de l’Ouest ; (iii) un accent spécifique sur les jeunes ; et (iv) la conception de solutions plus intégrées et durables pour améliorer la résilience des petites entreprises et des entreprises informelles. Le portefeuille s’étend à tous les pays d’opérations de TMA (niveau national) et aux niveaux régional et continental, favorisant l’inclusion des femmes, des jeunes et d’autres groupes vulnérables dans le commerce. Le titulaire du poste est responsable de la qualité du programme et de la mise en Å“uvre des interventions continentales et nationales et veillera à ce que les résultats et les impacts associés s’alignent sur les principaux résultats pour l’intégration et les initiatives ciblées. Il/elle veillera à l’intégration des aspects liés à l’inclusion, y compris le genre, les jeunes, les personnes handicapées et les autres groupes marginalisés, dans tous les aspects des programmes et des opérations de TMA, tant au niveau national que continental. Le titulaire du poste établira également des liens étroits avec les programmes de commerce inclusif dans tous les pays où TMA a une empreinte afin d’assurer l’intégration des aspects d’inclusion et de créer une visibilité sur l’impact de notre travail.
