Why this project?

Kasenyi Port on DRC side is juxtaposed to the Port of Ntoroko on Uganda side on Lake Albert. The Lake Albert providing access over water for trade to the city of Bunia and the hinterland until Kisangani. The project aims to rehabilitate the infrastructure at the Port.  The jetty will be renovated with the first 112 meters requiring a small amount of refurbishment but generally considered to be sound. The top surface of this 112 meters will be paved with reinforced concrete. The old fixed crane structure and rails crane will be dismantled and removed from the site. The remaining 51 maters of the jetty will be paved to take the weight of the mobile cranes. Capstans and new rails will be installed.
