FAQs
The Economic Recovery and Reform Activity (ERRA) is a five-year program (2022 – 2027) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through TradeMark Africa – TMA (formerly TradeMark East Africa). ERRA aims to promote transformative trade and investment reforms in the East and Horn of Africa while supporting the region to return to a growth pathway and recover from the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while advancing competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability.
The Economic Recovery and Reform Activity has three focus areas:
- Job creation – create jobs by supporting inclusive export growth in key export value chains, particularly for women and youth, such as livestock, logistics, and fisheries value chains in Somaliland; the agriculture, cotton, textile, and garments (CTG) sectors in Kenya; food, fuel, and fertilizer in the Ethio-Djibouti corridor, and the Digital Trade and Policies sectors in the AfCFTA region. For more information on the AfCFTA region, please visit: https://au-afcfta.org/
- Capacity development to facilitate trade – Facilitate trade by strengthening the capacity of national and regional bodies to widen and deepen regional integration in the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and the regional economic communities.
- Economic resilience – Strengthen resilience against shocks by supporting vulnerable groups, such as women traders and young entrepreneurs, facilitating more effective delivery and sourcing of humanitarian aid, and making food more affordable.
The program focuses on the East and Horn of Africa: Burundi, Djibouti, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somaliland, Tanzania, and Uganda.
No, ERRA does not have an official logo since it is a program funded by USAID through the Feed the Future initiative, implemented through TMA. Therefore, ERRA uses the Feed the Future, USAID, and TMA logos. Place the Feed the Future logo on the extreme top left of every document, the USAID logo on the extreme bottom left, and the TMA logo on the extreme bottom right.
USAID funds the ERRA program through Feed the Future, the U.S. Government’s global hunger and food security initiative.
We are excited that you are thinking about working on the implementation of the program! All vacancies are announced on TMA’s website procurement page and social media pages: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. We strongly encourage all applicants to continuously review TMA’s website for information regarding the program’s implementation and selection criteria.
